Message from Dean James Meza, Jr.

Greetings,

On behalf of the College of Education and Human Development faculty and staff at the University of New Orleans, I would like to welcome you to our website.

Our College has the finest programs in the mid-south for preparing teachers, educational leaders, counselors, curriculum specialists and educational scholars. Our mission is to improve teaching and leadership, advance lifelong learning, and enhance community partnerships. The faculty and staff are committed to providing students with the best educational experience. Our nationally accredited programs enhance learning by incorporating technology and providing an abundance of opportunities to work and learn in the community.

As an urban university, we have had a long history of partnerships with elementary and secondary schools in the New Orleans metro area. The College of Education and Human Development and the UNO Charter School Center is fulfilling that role by taking the lead in the rebuilding of our surrounding neighborhoods and the entire region by operating a network of public schools that provides a seamless pre-kindergarten through college learning community.

As you peruse our website, I hope you will see how a degree from UNOÕs College of Education and Human Development could enhance your career. Please contact us so that we may discuss your future at the University of New Orleans.

Sincerely,

James Meza, Jr.
Dean
